Pre-enrolment Information

In what language are the classes taught?
All classes are taught in English. Incoming students will need a reasonable proficiency and grasp of the English language. The older your child, the more likely this will become an essential factor to consider when applying. GIS employs EAL specialists (English as an additional language) to assist students whose first language is not English.

Are there admissions or entrance tests?
Children of all abilities are welcome. A central purpose of GIS is to ensure each child’s worth is recognized and appreciated regardless of preceding academic capacity. All Secondary students take English and Maths assessments to ensure that they will thrive at Grace. These assessments help the teachers better meet each child’s needs in learning and instruction.

What else should I know before applying?
Although GIS welcomes children of all capacities, races, and religions, we currently only admit children with foreign passports. We have begun the process of pursuing Bangladeshi government approval to accept non-foreign students. Admissions information will be updated as soon as that approval is granted.

Tuition Fees

Fees for the current year are available on request.

  • Nursery (3–4 years old)
  • Reception (4–5 years old)
  • Primary School: Years 1–6 (5–11 years old)
  • KEY STAGE 3: Years 7–9 (11–14 years old)
  • KEY STAGE 4: Years 10–11 (14–16 years old)
  • 5–6 hour daily education (3 hours for Nursery)
  • Daily Bus transportation to & from school
  • All learning materials
  • All in-school facilities
  • Outdoor sports accommodation (swimming, day trips, etc.)
Apart from the Tuition Fees there is an Application fee of TK 1,000 and a Security Deposit.
A new school place is secured by the payment of the Security Deposit before the end of the preceding term, or by the date specified on the invoice. If places are not secured within this time, they may be offered to other families on the waiting list. The Security Deposit is fully refundable (without interest) provided the school is given half a semester’s notice before the withdrawal of a child.
The Tuition Fee becomes due on the first day of the term and should be paid in full within 30 calendar days of the first day of school (or the due date on the invoice).
A minimum tuition fee of one half semester is paid per child, irrespective of her/his date of admission and duration of stay at school. If a child is enrolled in the school at any time during the first (or third) quarter, parents will be required to pay for the full semester. Regardless of the date of admission, the full security deposit should be paid per child.
If fees are not paid on time, a 1.5% monthly interest will be levied. This finance charge is calculated every month on the outstanding school fees due for the current semester, including any arrears; any portion of a month will be billed as an entire month.
Security Deposits are refunded (without interest) provided the school receives written notice two months prior to the child’s departure from the school, the date of this departure is deemed to be the last day of school in a ‘quarter’. If a child leaves part way through a semester they are liable for the fees for the whole half semester in which they were deemed to have attended.
A Retainer fee is to be paid if parents wish to retain a place at school for their child (for example in case of home leave). A place at school can only be guaranteed if the school receives the Retainer fee at least 2 months before the new semester starts.
Refunds are granted only after the school receives a written notice prior to the withdrawal of the child. It is in the interest of the parent(s) to ensure that such a letter is sent at least two months before the date of withdrawal, if the time of leaving is the end of a term then it should be two months before the end of the term. If this does not happen, the school will withhold fees for the subsequent school term (half semester) to be deducted from the security deposit. If notice of withdrawal is given, and the child finishes in the middle of a half semester, then the fees for the whole half semester are still due.
Fees and information given are accurate at the time of writing, but subject to change by the Board at any time which will be sent in writing to parents. In the event of a major terrorist incident or natural disaster affecting the school’s operation the school reserves the right to withhold a percentage of, or all security deposit money.
